The original was released in 2000 under the name “THE KOBE”. As the name suggests, it is the signature model of the Kobe Bryant. Until around 1999, the design of basketball shoes used many curves and became complicated, but from around 2000, linear, minimal and rigid designs began to appear. In addition to some signs of this in NIKE’s AIR JORDAN 15, it is noticeable around “AIR FLIGHT POSITE KG (AIR FLIGHT POSITE 2)”, and “THE KOBE” was one of the representatives. By the way, I used to own “Sunshine (yellow)” from “THE KOBE (OG)” and the 2013 reproduction of “Sunshine”. For the former, the hard parts of the heel deteriorated over time and shattered. Both sneakers and basketball shoes had a very good feeling of use, so I was really looking forward to the resale of “Crazy 1” in 2022. And when I won the lottery sale of Adidas and was able to buy it, I was very happy.Well, when I received the actual product and checked it, I was surprised at the coarseness of the stitching. The seams were undulating and bumpy. When I returned it to Adidas as a defective product, it was replaced with a slightly better one, but the ankle part of one leg was weak and opened strangely outward. Also, I felt that the width was narrower than before. I felt that I didn’t want to use them as basketball shoes. Now, when I look at the image again to post it on the website, it says “BASKETBALL”. Most of Nike’s reproduction products are casual shoes category, but this “CRAZY 1” seems to be intended for basketball. Compared to the original, the 2013 reproduction was released with the quality for basketball at the time, but are these reproduction shoes suitable for wearing basketball? I really doubt it. However, these shoes look best when they are new and unused, so it may be fine to just hold them without wearing them.
オリジナルは2000年に「THE KOBE」という名称で発売されました。名前の通り、故コービー・ブライアントのシグニチャーモデルですね。1999年くらいまで、バッシュのデザインは曲線を多用し複雑化していましたが、2000年あたりから直線的、ミニマルで硬質的なデザインのものが登場し始めました。NIKEのAIR JORDAN 15にややその兆候が見られる他、「AIR FLIGHT POSITE KG (AIR FLIGHT POSITE 2)」あたりでは顕著で、「THE KOBE」はその代表格の中のひとつでした。ところで、私は「THE KOBE」の「サンシャイン（イエロー）」、2013年復刻の「サンシャイン」を所有していたことがあります。前者はヒールの硬質パーツが経年劣化し砕けてしまいました。いずれもスニーカーとして、バッシュとして大変良い使用感のものであったため、2022年の「クレイジー1」の復刻は大変楽しみにしていました。そして、アディダスの抽選販売で当選して買うことができたとき、非常に嬉しく思いました。さて、現物が届いて確認すると、その縫製の粗さに驚きました。シーム部分がうねってボコボコだったのです。アディダスに不良品として返品したところ、少しマシな個体と交換されてきましたが、それも片足のアンクル部が弱く、変に外側に開いてしまっていました。また、履き心地は昔に比べ固く横幅が狭いように感じました。バッシュとしては使いたくないと感じるものでした。今、ウェブサイトに掲載するために改めて画像を見ると「BASKETBALL」と記載がありますね。NIKEの復刻版は大抵カジュアルシューズカテゴリなのですが、この「CRAZY 1」は競技用のつもりのようです。たしかにオリジナルに対して2013年復刻は当時の競技用クオリティにアレンジされてリリースされていましたが、今回の復刻は果たして競技で履くことに向いているのでしょうか。甚だ疑問です。もっとも、このシューズは新品未使用の状態が最も格好良いので、履かずに持っているだけで良いのかもしれません。
