常にどこかレトロモダンな魅力が漂うトムフォードのサンローランリヴゴーシュですが、この2003年秋冬シーズンは特にその特徴が顕著でした。同シーズンのグッチは少し「シックロック」路線でアウトロー感を感じる作風でしたが、サンローランでは端正なルックを並べて差別化を図っていました。このジャケットもクリーンな印象ですが、大きめの襟にレトロな印象を感じます。当時のトムフォードによる2メゾンの魅力に私は憧れており、この時のショウでモデルが巻いているスカーフを真似て、服地屋さんで似た生地を買って首に巻いていました。いい思い出です。
Tom Ford’s Yves Saint Laurent rive gauche always has a retro-modern charm, but this 2003 autumn/winter season was particularly distinguished. Gucci in the same season had a style that felt a little outlaw on the “chic rock” manner, but Saint Laurent tried to differentiate himself by arranging a neat look. This jacket also has a clean impression, but the large collar gives it a retro look. I admired the charm of Tom Ford’s two Maisons at the time, and I imitated the scarves worn by the models at the show, and bought similar fabrics at the fabric store and tied them around my neck. It’s a good memory.
