COMMENT
This is a silicone-coated denim from Dior homme directed by Hedi Slimane. It’s commonly known as “LUSTER,” which was also the title of the collection for that season. There are various theories, but I believe the reason this denim is called “LUSTER denim” is because it derives from the collection title. I remember there were no silicone-coated denims in the 2003 spring/summer collection (there were black-coated ones, though), so I recall that this 2003-2004 autumn/winter collection was its first appearance. Dior homme was at the height of its popularity, releasing a string of excellent collections, but it was also a time when a slight sense of stagnation was creeping in.
エディスリマンによるディオールオムのシリコンコーティングデニムです。通称”LUSTER”です。このシーズンのコレクションタイトルでもありました。諸説あると思いますが、このデニムが”LUSTERデニム”と呼称されるのはそのコレクションタイトルに由来します。2003s/sにはシリコンコーティングのものはなかったと思うので（ブラックコーティングのものはありましたが）、この2003-2004a/wが初出であったと記憶しています。Dior hommeが好コレクションを連発して人気絶頂、しかしながら若干マンネリ化の影が忍び寄っている時期でもありました。
