2006年春夏にカジュアルラインを分離、メインラインの対象年齢層を上げることを試みていた当時のラフシモンズ。そのような方針でブランド運営を行っていた状況で、2008年秋冬シーズンに初めてラフシモンズとドクターマーチンのコラボレーションが行われました。晩期のドクターマーチンコラボではデザインコンシャスなプロダクトが多かったですが、この初コラボレーションでは美しいシルエット、（ブラックとブラウンにおいては）上質なシボ革を使用するなど「高級なドクターマーチン」感を醸し出したプロダクトとなっていました。シルバーカラーは・・・すぐにひび割れる問題のある素材でした。サイズ感はEUサイズを参考にするのが良いように思います。私は基本的にEU41サイズの革靴を履きますが、このブーツも41がジャストサイズです。
Raf Simons separated the casual line “RAF BY RAF SIMONS” in 2006SS and he was trying to raise the target age group of the mainline. Under such circumstances, the 2008AW saw the first collaboration between Raf Simons and Dr. Martens. In the late collaboration with Dr. Martens, there were many design-conscious products, but in this first collaboration, the boots have a beautiful silhouette, and (for black and brown) high-quality textured leather is used, giving it a “luxury Dr. Martens” feel. The silver color was…a problematic material that cracked surface quickly. I think that it is better to refer to the EU size for the feeling of size. I basically wear EU41 size leather shoes, and 41 is just the right size for these boots.
